This past Saturday marked the kickoff of the Summer Show 2023 at the Suwanee Arts Center - a thriving platform that underscores artists at all career stages. Scheduled to span from June 3 to August 2, the show is a radiant tribute to a myriad of art forms, creating an immersive aesthetic experience for the audience.

With an open house on Saturday, June 3, from 12 to 5 PM, the exhibition became an inviting space for art lovers. Bursting with creativity, the exhibit encompasses 2D and 3D art across a multitude of media. From striking paintings, evocative photography, and intricate pottery to mixed media, glass artistry, expert woodworking, immersive videography, and thought-provoking sculpture - the Summer Show is a testament to the boundless creativity of our local talent. The art displayed is not just about the medium used but also about the mastery of craftsmanship and the adept presentation skills of the artists.

Every corner of the gallery buzzed with life, a testament to the wide range of talent our Suwanee community boasts. As visitors moved through the space, they found themselves on a journey, transitioning from the bold brush strokes of oil paintings to the subtle hues of watercolors. Delicate pastel sketches, vibrant acrylics, and intriguing mixed media pieces drew admiration. The intricate designs of ceramics and the craftsmanship of woodworking pieces evoked awe. The shine of metal sculptures caught the light, creating striking reflections, while the blend of tradition and innovation in the acrylic photos added a distinct charm. The magic of motion captured through videography added a dynamic element, making the exhibit a truly immersive and diverse artistic experience.

The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony. Best in Show was scooped up by Rene Gonzales for his mesmerizing piece, "Blue Blood."


Other categories recognized were 2nd Place, Honorable Mention, and Emerging Artist, each showcasing remarkable talent and creativity. Yet, the final judgment is still to come - the People's Choice award will be bestowed at the end of the exhibit.


Art lovers are invited to the Suwanee Arts Center to cast their vote for their favorite piece of art. The Summer Art Exhibit is not just an art exhibit, it's a celebration of the passion, creativity, and talent within the Suwanee community.
